#1 - Weekly Recap - 03/16/2025 to 03/22/2025

Hello everyone and welcome to the blog. I've been struggling trying to figure out what to write here. Those longer-form, informational presentations I have been posting on the YouTube channel just take too long to adapt to blog-form. Eventually, all of the informational stuff on the YouTube channel will be in a library here on the website, but not until I have the time myself, or the money to hire an employee.

So. That brings us to what these posts will be. Every week, I will be typing up a recap of the week, either of our Red Dog Ranch activities, or of my school and work activities. So. Without further adieu; our first weekly recap.

We bought another tractor!!!

We have purchased a 1960s-era Massey Ferguson 65 to use on the farm! Alan and I spent a good day or two working on the tractor. We replaced the carburetor, battery, spark plugs, and ignition switch. We are currently waiting for a new starter then, with any luck, we'll be able to make the 8 mile trek home to RDR at 12 miles per hour.

This summer, once I'm done with pea harvest with Schreiber Brothers Farms, we plan on renting an excavator for two weeks, allowing us to clear some land. This tractor won't be of much use until that land is cleared. We'll be able to keep the fields mowed with it, as well as start to ramp up our agricultural production.
